The Making of
Uncle Lester's Word Game

Lester Drotts (1947-2000) loved wooden toys, games, and Christmas. He began developing this word game in the 1980's on his Apple IIC computer and was planning to have it produced for sale.

Lester worked on this game by categorizing up to 25 different sets of words and leveling them for difficulty, but did not get the game completed before his death. His sister, Ruby Hovda, inherited the game.

At Christmas time in 2000, Ruby and her husband Gary, together with their grown children (Lori and Rich; and Tim and Cami), looked at the massive amount of work that Lester had done, and decided to make their best effort to produce the game for sale.

In 2001, Lester's dream of creating a word game for sale finally came true. The first to be produced was THE FAMILY EDITION.

THE STUDENT EDITION (same board and directions but vocabulary for students) followed by Christmas 2002.

THE BIBLE EDITION was available by Christmas 2003. THE BIBLE EDITION uses words from King James and New International Versions of the Bible and each word is accompanied by a Scripture reference.
